Africa is not a country but a continent.

Many people tend to have this misconception when talking about Africa. They refer to it as one country. It is is the second biggest continent in the world and it is made up of 53 countries. It has five regions which are; North Africa, South Africa, East Africa, West Africa and Central Africa.

The next time you want to ask somebody from Africa about where he comes from, make sure you specify the country because different countries in Africa have different cultures and way of life.African Countries

    • i think many people just rely on the media which is a great source of stuff about the continent. If people would do their own research about Africa, they would have a greater understanding. There are also many myths and stories about Africa which are true and some not true and so people are left confused.

  1. very true! you never hear anyone refering to a Canadian as a North American its pretty much ignrorance nobody knows much about Africa.

    • That’s true James.. Hope the world cup won’t cause more confusion because it is in South Africa. People Might thin it is the Southern part of this big country called Africa.
